     The Essential Components of the Metaverse
           The three essential  and contributing models for the metaverse are: 
- Gaming Engines  - Virtual Environments - Virtual Economies

Gaming Engines
     Gaming Engines are used by software tool developers for building and running video games. Through these programs, 3D objects can be uploaded while the rules regarding moving these objects and adding sounds to  them can be applied. Gaming engines have more extensive uses lately. The two most popular gaming engines working are Unity and Unreal. Unreal is owned by Epic the company that made Fortnite. Gaming engines contribute to the further expansion of the development of the metaverse.

Digital Twin
     It refers to the physical objects using gaming engines and sensor data to create their stimulated software copy inside a computer. It means humans can interact with this software copy just like they interact with a computer.

 Virtual Environments
     Virtual environments are artificially created environments. Two popular platforms include Twitter and Discord. These are platforms where people meet and exchange messages in an online environment. Apart from these, two virtual environments are more advanced than those mentioned above.

Real World Augmented Reality Environments 
     Games that fall into this category is Pokemon Go. As a spatial game built by Unity, Pokemon Go overlays the physical world with its 3d characters. Games and platforms belonging to such environments do not require a VR headset and they can be played directly with our devices i.e smartphones and tablets.

Purely Digital Environments
     They are those traditional virtual environments where we have to sit in front of the computer screen and wear a VR headset. However, these type of VR environments are gradually becoming obsolete. A significant aspect of  both environments is that they contribute to the expansion of the metaverse. 
     Second Life is a commonly well known virtual environment. It has its economy where users can engage in trading activities using the platform's currency linden dollars. Successors to Second Life include Rec Room, Somnium Space, All Space, VRchat. 
     Popular games such as Roblox and Fortnite can be regarded as spatial environments that allow their users to interact. Once the Metaverse becomes advanced although, all these VR platforms can be combined into a single virtual environment. In this environment, all users will be able to experience the internet and walk inside it real time like the things you see in sci-fi movies

Will the metaverse be used only for games? While VR game worlds have primarily supported the metaverse concept, it will not be its only purpose. The metaverse will allow us to create a digital twin of every object we make use of today. It is also expected that the metaverse will allow us to interact with the avatars of our loved ones sitting miles away from us in real time. It will also allow us to visit cities we have never seen before. 
     The virtual worlds in the metaverse pretty much operate like the real world. The virtual worlds in the metaverse pretty much operate. The  Virtual world Second Life mention earlier supports an annual economy of $500 million. It's GDP surpasses the GDP of many real world countries. Fortnite earned $9 billion in 2018 and 2019 by selling in game objects to players which granted them virtual roles in the game. 
N.B The metaverse can also be called a virtual fashion industry.

The Metaverse Pyramid
     It consists of four layers: True Metaverse -> Content Layer -> Infrastructure Layer  -> Foundation Layer
      The foundation layer is the most basic layer of the whole of the metaverse pyramid. It is the internet that helps people connect to each other without any limitations.

      The infrastructure layer is provided by: 
1) Hardware  Industry 2) Technologies for Industries 3) Blockchain

     The content layer composes mostly of the games providing multiple virtual worlds.
      In the true metaverse, the virtual space coexists with the real world. It includes: 
1) Real life example 2) Unlimited creation of the virtual environment 3) Economic system of the virtual environment

Introduction to Blockchain Layers
      Game theory is the study of mathematical models for making strategic interaction between rational decision makers. Encoding and decoding data comes under the mathematical and computational discipline known as cryptography.
    Benefits of Blockchain
     - It eliminates intermediaries
     - It reduces cost and improves efficiency by being a transparent and secure platform
The Core of Blockchain
      Since any central authority or government does not control the blockchain, the DLT (Distributed Ledger Technology) verifies any info on the blockchain with cryptography. That means any member of a blockchain can have their info verified via DLT. Because blockchain lacks a governing body, it becomes scalable. Due to its scalability, several layers came into existence for providing enhanced security. 
Blockchain Scalability
      Scalability refers to an increased system throughput rate measured in transactions per second in the blockchain. In this formula, throughput is the number of transactions a system handles per second.
