The Samsung Galaxy S22 Series: Is It Worth The Buy?
The Samsung Galaxy S22 series(S22, S22+, S22 Ultra) is a series of flagship smartphones designed, developed, manufactured and marketed by Samsung Electronics. It was unveiled at Samsung Galaxy's Unpacked Event on 9 February 2022. We are going to look at each member of the S22 line this year so let's get right into it.
Samsung Galaxy S22
The S22 is the lowest smartphone in the Samsung S lineup this year. It weighs 167g(5.9 oz). It has a 6.1 inch(155mm). It has a 19 by 5 by 9 aspect ratio. The S22 has a display resolution of 2340x1080. It has a refresh rate which varies from 10Hz to 120Hz. It offers 8GB of RAM with 128GB and 256GB options for internal storage. It has a battery capacity of 3700mAh. It supports wired charging over USB-C at up to 25W(using USB Power Delivery). It is a specification which allows the load and power supply to negotiate for multiple standard power delivery levels. USB Power Delivery increases the power capability of USB to 100W and is particularly useful when providing power to multiple devices. It has a 25W super fast charging option as well as 15W wireless charging. The Samsung Galaxy S22 goes for $799.
Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus
Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra
This is Samsung's biggest flagship in the S22 series for the year 2022. It is curved on all edges. It weighs 228g(8.0oz). It has a 6.8 inch(173mm) screen. The S22 Ultra has a separate lens protrusion for each camera element. It has a display resolution of 3088x1440. It has a variable refresh rate of 1 to 120 Hz and uses LTPO technology( modulation to a 10Hz refresh rate to saveaq battery).It has a 19 by 3 by 9 aspect ratio. It has 8/12GB of RAM with 256GB, 512GB AND 1TB options for ROM internal storage. It has a 108MP sensor with 12-bit HDR same as predecessor. It has two 10MP telephoto sensors with 3x and 10x optical zoom and a 12MP ultrawide sensor. It also has a 40MP front facing camera sensor. It has a 5000 mAh Li-Po battery and a 45W quick charging option. The S22 Plus and S22 Ultra models support Ultrawide Band (UWB) for short range communications.
